BRIDGE OF WEIR COMMUNITY COUNCIL

Our Festive activities commenced with the Christmas lights switch on ceremony which was held on Wednesday 2nd December. Rev. Kenneth Gray accompanied by the primary school choir lead a full capacity Freeland Church for the community carol service. He then led the lantern parade from the church to Livery Walk. The vastly improved Christmas lights display were then switched on by Adele Swordy, the village Festival Queen in front of one of the largest crowds to attend this event.
Thanks to the Festival Committee who provided Santa for the boys and girls to visit. We then proceeded to the Royal British Legion Club for refreshments courtesy of Bridge of Weir Community Council.
In 2010 the Community Council look forward to the first stage of improvements at Livery Walk, and it is our intention to establish a working group for further village centre improvements.
2010 will also bring in the new Scheme for Community Council's and Code of Conduct for Community Councillors where we hope this will generate new membership and continued success for the Community Council.

Bridge of Weir Community Council wishes all residents of the village and Gazette readers a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous 2010.
