Council Info
This was a recent submission to the Local Area Committee by a local resident :
“I think that the Council, the Department and the executives concerned should all be congratulated on a very successful refurbishment of the Renfrew town centre. The 'new look' Renfrew is a credit to all concerned and a vast improvement for Renfrew residents.
As a Council Tax payer I am delighted that I have played a small part in the refurbishment of Renfrew centre by contributing to it. However, as a Bridge of Weir resident for some 38 years, I would like to think that my future Council Tax payments might now be directed towards a similar - and long, long overdue - improvement for the centre of Bridge of Weir. Over many years Council Tax payers in Bridge of Weir have shouldered more than their fair share of helping to fund environmental improvements elsewhere in Renfrewshire only to see their village environment ignored and left to deteriorate.
Please tell me when we might expect the Council to undertake a similar, much needed, improvement to the centre of Bridge of Weir. After decades of neglect by the Council improvement to the fabric of the village needs to be given priority and I would welcome hearing that a date has been agreed for commencement of such a project.”
