A petition from parents attending Bridge of Weir Primary and St. Benedict's Secondary schools resulted in a walking group being set up. Scott Allen, Head of Roads at Renfrewshire Council agreed to accompany the Walking Group. The outcome of this is that Kilbarchan Road has now been deemed to be unsafe.
There has also been a request that the speed limit for Houston Road outside the village be reduced to 30mph.
The Community Council has made requests for at least a 40mph limit for several years.
It has been noted that barriers at present in place in some parts of Houston Road have not been properly cemented in and a request has been made that this be rectified as soon as possible plus the erection of further barriers.
A letter supporting these parent groups will be sent to Renfrewshire Council from the Community Council.

It had been decided at the last meeting that the members of the Community Council would do a "Walk About" of the village this evening and send their findings of problems such as broken walls etc to the Secretary and Chairman who will then collate the information and contact the appropriate departments within Renfrewshire Council.

The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday 7 September at 7.00pm in the Cargill Hall
