Bridge of Weir - Ice Hockey !!!

I am currently writing a book on the early history of ice hockey in Scotland. The period covered by this book is approximately 1895 to 1939. I am not sure whether you know that the Bridge of Weir once had a very successful ice hockey team. It played in the 1930s and twice won the Canada Cup which was the trophy awarded to the champions. The club also won other honours and had several players capped by Scotland for international matches.

The Bridge of Weir club was very family oriented and several players came from the Muirhead and McLeod families in the community. I was hoping that there might be someone in the community who might have been related or have some knowledge of players who turned out for the club. It was obviously a long time ago but perhaps there might be children or grandchildren of these players who might be able to assist me. I would especially be interested in any photographs or memorabilia pertaining to the club that people might be able to show me from this era.

Since I live in Paisley I have something of a "soft spot" for the club since it represented Renfrewshire in what became a very Glasgow dominated league championship. I have compiled a complete playing record of the club and would be glad to give you a copy if it is of any interest.

Any assistance you can give would be greatly appreciated.
