CHAIRMANS REPORT
Tonight should have been the setting up of the Community Council for the beginning of the new 4 year term. However due to the Scottish Governments and Renfrewshire Councils consultation process regards Changes to Community Councils the current Community Council's term is to continue for a further year.
This is one of the many consultations we've been involved in throughout the year.
The most important one the Town Centre Regeneration Funding of which Fraser Carlin will give an update on the progress later.
An important event I attended was the Launch of the Local Action Group or Vice Chair Tom Fulton is a member of the Board.
This session either on our own or in partnership we have to consider worthwhile projects to seek funding from this body.
Unfortunately our application to Awards for All for funding for a Christmas tree for Livery walk was rejected, so this year we intend to continue with the same display and format.
This matter will be readdressed and hopefully with the assistance of Fraser a suitable tree can be incorporated within the Livery Walk project.
I have been delighted to continue to represent the Community Council on the Play Park Improvement Group, we have all seen the excellent progress made at Houston Road and shortly new equipment will be installed in
The Glen.
Thanks to all three Local Councillors and Community Police for there assistance throughout the year.
Finally thanks to all Community Councillors and special thank you to those who have given the extra commitment in attending Area Committee Meetings, Community Council Forums, Association of Scottish Community Council Meetings, and Local Planning Meetings on our behalf
