President's Pucks Tournament Semi Final Bridge of Weir 6 Bears 3
"The semi-final of the President's Pucks competition between Bridge of Weir and Bears produced a high scoring game at the Scottish Ice Rink, Crossmyloof, Glasgow last night. Bridge of Weir, who qualified to meet Kelvingrove in the final, gave a sparkling display of speedy and constructive ice hockey.
Bears were handicapped without the services of J R Gilmour in defence while R O MacDonald was obviously unfit after receiving a knock early in the game. They were rather disjointed in attack but still managed several well taken goals.
From the outset, Bridge of Weir had much the better of the exchanges and after several clever moves by W G McDonald and M D Brennan, the latter made his way through his shot was cleared by R G Walker but W M Muirhead followed up to score.
McDonald scored two fine goals for Bridge of Weir early in the second period and Brennan did likewise while MacDonald scored for Bears.
W S McLeod added further to Bridge of Weir's lead in the final session but near the end, J Johnstone reduced the leeway by scoring twice for Bears."
