Scottish League (Canada Cup) Bridge of Weir 2 Achtungs 0

"At the Scottish Ice Rink, Crossmyloof, Glasgow last night, Bridge of Weir were slightly the better side and deserved their victory. To a considerable extent, Achtungs owed their defeat to the lack of substitutes.

The first incident of note was a fine shot by R E Muirhead which brought a splendid save from W H Dunlop. The same player later had a capital chance to bring the first goal when he missed scoring from a yard's range. While attacking in turn, Achtungs were held at bay by the strategy of G D Rowley in defence for Bridge of Weir. I S McLeod had a clever shot for Bridge of Weir well saved by Dunlop and the first period ended with no scoring.

The second period was not long in progress when Rowley scored a good goal for Bridge of Weir flicking the puck past Dunlop into the side of the goal from far out on the right. Achtungs might have equalised shortly after when A Love gave A Rintoul an ideal pass but the latter shot wide. Then A Ross saved Bridge of Weir when he cleared from a scrimmage around his goal and the second period ended with Bridge of Weir leading by a goal.

On resuming, R F Winfield had a credible low shot which Ross saved with little to spare and some time later, Bridge of Weir scored their second goal in soft fashion. Rowley swept through the Achtungs defence and at the opportune moment slipped the puck to A E McLeod who shot poorly but Dunlop, taken by surprise, failed to stop the progress of the puck."
