Scottish League (Canada Cup)  Bridge of Weir 3   Kelvingrove 1

"Bridge of Weir, as a result of a well deserved victory over Kelvingrove in a splendidly contested match at the Scottish Ice Rink, Crossmyloof, Glasgow last night, have established a three points lead in the league race. Play in the early stages particularly often realised a high standard and the exchanges were fast all through.

Bridge of Weir gave their best display of the season with W G McDonald, M D Brennan and W S McLeod outstanding. Their quick breaking, keen backing up and opportunism resulted in three clever goals.

Kelvingrove however played soundly and might with justice have met with some reward for their strenuous pressure in the final period. Their first line were all dangerous individually but did not combine as effectively as their opponents.

Bridge of Weir established an early lead when McDonald broke up the ice with McLeod in close attendance and scored after A S Dick, the only Kelvingrove player in position, had been drawn.

W S Montford equalised for Kelvingrove after the change of ends. Brennan later snapped a goal to restore Bridge of Weir's lead. Despite determined efforts by Kelvingrove in the final period, a breakaway by McLeod led to another goal by Brennan."
