Scottish League (Canada Cup)  Bridge of Weir 3   Glasgow University 0

"Bridge of Weir grabbed two Canada Cup points in their match with Glasgow University at the Scottish Ice Rink, Crossmyloof, Glasgow last night after a hard game.

It was not such an easy victory as the score would suggest and while B Butters in the University goal effected innumerable clever saves, he might have averted two of the goals. R H Gardiner played well in defence for the University.

In the first period, I S McLeod scored for Bridge of Weir and the same player scored shortly afterwards but the goal was disallowed owing to an offside. A F Reid did score later slackness in defence contributing to the goal.

In the second period, Butters made a daring save when he dived at the feet of I S McLeod the puck being deflected against the outside of the net.

W G McDonald was sent to the boards in the third period for an infringement when T Proost was skating clean through and later F McLernan was penalised in the same way when he brought down McDonald. I S McLeod then scored a third goal for Bridge of Weir. In the last minute, A Ross had a fine save from J O McCabe previous to which J K Woodrow was sent off for a tackle on McCabe."
