Scottish League (Canada Cup) Bridge of Weir 4 Mohawks 2
"Bridge of Weir well deserved their victory in the Canada Cup match at the Scottish Ice Rink, Crossmyloof, Glasgow last night.
Mohawks never struck their best form their attack being too cramped in action while their defence was often devoid of tactics. Bridge of Weir were superior in defence and the attack was very accurate with their finishing. There was plenty of excitement and the game always held interest.
R E Muirhead scored for Bridge of Weir in the first period and then J G Fyfe equalised for Mohawks on a pass from T Craig. A F Reid put Bridge of Weir ahead just before the close of the period.
W G McDonald scored a third goal for Bridge of Weir at the start of the second period and then J Fullerton had a great effort for Mohawks shortly afterwards which struck the upright. R E Muirhead scored a fourth goal for Bridge of Weir who led 4-1 at the end of the period.
In the last period, heavy checking predominated and J K Woodrow was put off the ice for an offence. Fullerton scored a second goal for Mohawks soon after and they scored another goal when the puck was carried into the goal by Woodrow in an exciting scrimmage but the score was disallowed."
