Scottish League (Canada Cup) Bridge of Weir 1 Glasgow University 1
"Glasgow University deserve great credit for drawing with Bridge of Weir in the league game at the Scottish Ice Rink, Crossmyloof, Glasgow last night for in the third period they lost P MacKay their new goaltender through injury and had to finish with a deputy. MacKay was struck in the face by the puck and was taken to the Victoria Infirmary where his wound was stitched.
The University side played a plucky game especially F McLernan who as deputy goaltender kept Bridge of Weir out time and again in a thrilling third period. MacKay also deserves great praise for he saved many shots brilliantly. Outstanding for Bridge of Weir were W G McDonald and M D Brennan, the defence men.
Bridge of Weir went ahead near the end of the first period, Brennan opening the way for W S McLeod to score and it was not until near the end of the game, after MacKay had been carried off, that D Edwards broke through and scored the equalising goal so well earned by the University."
