Scottish League (Canada Cup) Bridge of Weir 3 Bearsden 0
"Bridge of Weir's victory in the league game at Crossmyloof Ice Rink, Glasgow last night was an easy one and only the brilliant goaltending of R G Walker saved his side from further defeat.
When the game commenced a heavy mist hung over the rink which made it difficult for the players to follow the puck. W M Muirhead opened the first period with a hard shot which went narrowly past. Thereafter, with the exception of one breakaway and that was a solo effort by J R Gilmour, the Bearsden goal was heavily bombarded. A second from the interval, W M Muirhead opened the scoring for Bridge of Weir with a shot that gave Walker no chance to save.
Three minutes after the start of the second period, W M Muirhead after a fine piece of dribbling, scored a second goal for Bridge of Weir. Towards the interval, the same player ran to within a few yards of his opponents goal and shot and only the timely intervention of Walker prevented Muirhead from securing the hat-trick.
The third period was fought out in front of Bearsden's goal. Time and again, Bridge of Weir looked like increasing their lead but the brilliant goaltending of Walker was a feature of the game. Just on the finish, following a scrimmage in front of goal, A E McLeod further increased his side's score."
