Scottish League (Canada Cup) Bridge of Weir 1 Kelvingrove 1
"A draw was probably the fairest result of a league game brimful of incident between Kelvingrove and Bridge of Weir at the Scottish Ice Rink, Crossmyloof, Glasgow last night although the latter's remarkable improvement deserved in some respects a fuller measure of revenge for the 3-0 defeat inflicted by their opponents in the recent Mitchell Trophy tie.
Bridge of Weir's reorganised side with M D Brennan and W G McDonald in the defence worked more smoothly and greater speed and mobility in turning defence into attack was evident from the outset. Only in the later stages did Kelvingrove compare with their opponents when they drew level during a splendid rally.
W M Muirhead made headway from the face off, McDonald seizing the opening made to score. Inter passing by Kelvingrove saw shots delivered by A J Tingley and later C McMillan while McDonald, Brennan and W S McLeod all had good attempts for Bridge of Weir.
W M Muirhead was again prominent early in the second period but in a melee near the Kelvingrove goal the posts were dislodged. The brothers McLeod initiated further Bridge of Weir attacks and Brennan had a fine solo run but his shot was well saved by D Cross.
The final session was fought out with even greater vigour. W S Montford had a likely shot turned aside by A Ross while W S McLeod came equally close at the other end. Then Montford took a pass from A S Dick and skated his way through to register a fine goal. Montford had two further good attempts as had R D Gemmell and Tingley. Bridge of Weir had their share of attack with efforts from W S McLeod and McDonald."
