Scottish League (Canada Cup)  Bridge of Weir 1   Mohawks 2

"Mohawks inflicted on Bridge of Weir their first league defeat of the season in a stirring encounter at the Scottish Ice Rink, Crossmyloof, Glasgow last night. Play was hard fought from start to finish and the unusual number of players sent to the penalty box was evidence of the tense nature of the exchanges.

On the general run of the play Mohawks must be judged fortunate to emerge with both points. They certainly had the better of matters in the opening period but thereafter the initiative was more often with Bridge of Weir.

A Ross, the Bridge of Weir goaltender, was called upon to save numerous shots from the Mohawks front line in the early stages when the Fullerton brothers and J Kenny were frequently prominent. M D Brennan and W G McDonald carried out several raids in one of which a fast shot by McDonald completely deceived the Mohawks goaltender.

Bridge of Weir proceeded to justify their undeserved goal by more settled play on resuming but Kenny broke up the ice to make an opening for J Fullerton to score in a scramble. During a  period of pressure by Bridge of Weir in the final period, W Fullerton broke away and rounding the opposing defence scored a spectacular goal."
