Mitchell Trophy Bridge of Weir 0 Kelvingrove 0
"A very hard and exciting game was played at the Scottish Ice Rink, Crossmyloof, Glasgow last night in the Mitchell Trophy semi-final tie and a draw was a good result.
On play, Bridge of Weir were the aggressors but Kelvingrove defended with great spirit and at times broke away in dangerous fashion. E Fincham saved splendidly from A F Reid at the start.
In the second period, W S McLeod had a strong shot at goal for Bridge of Weir the puck striking A S Dick and compelling Fincham to save smartly. Reid later had a good effort from the left side of the ice and the goaltender saved cleverly. Fincham then saved again from W S McLeod. W M Muirhead had a great opportunity to put his side ahead shortly afterwards but failed to get his shot in.
In the last period, the Kelvingrove goal had a narrow escape during a scrimmage in front of the net. Bridge of Weir were pressing strongly at this stage and a raking shot by W G McDonald was stopped when the puck might have been over the line, Fincham saving and later he saved brilliantly from the same player."
